Alright!
If you’re ever at home, wondering what to do, try this on for size..! Oh, and that’s a pic of my home gym area, where most of my home workouts take place. Not quite what you’d expect, is it? :D It does however provide one with some fun variety and a multitude of different exercises with those rubber bands…

You’ll need a support of some kind and an exercise wheel.
Yes, an exercise wheel. The kind you’d normally do abs with.
Only this time, you put your feet your where hands would normally go and press down with your legs to get your pelvis to lift off the floor. Keep the pelvis off throughout the exercise. Now all you do is straighten your legs a bit, then curl them back in. Try ‘em! They’re heavy as hell. GHR’s got nothing on these. Really. Even weighted. Oh yeah, and you definitely need some heavy metal music playing. I had Metallica’s St.Anger…

Here’s the killer 23 minute workout:

1. 3 sets of One-legged squats. Reps I managed: 10, 10, 9
2. 2 sets of Sissy squats. Once again, do as many as you can. Won’t be that many… Mine were: 10, 9
3. 3 sets of Leg curls with the exercise wheel. Reps: 4, 5, 5

I know you’ve got a penchant for unusual exercises, but I hope you’re not doing the ab wheel stuff on the staircase :)

No he isn’t. He’s doing them on the rails I believe. That’s the only way to get in a full range of motion as the butt will otherwise drag into the floor.

Correctamundo. It is also best to do them while standing on your head. :)
No but really, have just had a little bit of trouble uploading the clip I took. And REALLY, they’re the bomb, the leg curls are, I’m telling you.

Yeah, the burn is probably a lot better than GHRs, but don’t think the curls have anything on the GHRs as far as functional strength is concerned… BTW, we should probably comb Under the Bar and make an index of the “Måns presents” segments that appear in some of the clips. Or even extract them and put them all here. :-)

Let me know if there’s anything I can help out with as far as the uploading is concerned.

Well, actually, there wasn’t really time to get a burn. There was simply SFS (sudden failure syndrome) coupled with what felt like a beginning spasm. Truly felt like an all-out effort.
I agree, though that as far functionality goes, this is nowhere in the vicinity of the same ballpark. However, as an alternative to leg curls in a machine, these are it. :)
